50th Anniversary of British Karate

Japan Institute President Ronnie Colwell and senior members Trevor Streets and Roy Fox were recently invited to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of British Karate celebrations held at Bisham Abbey

The superb event was organised by Terry Wingrove and saw the coming together of many old faces of the British Karate scene. Terry had arranged for some leading instructors of Karate and Chinese arts to come to Bisham and hold seminars. The day's training finished with demonstrations from the visiting instructors and was then followed by a friendly international contest with an England team, led by Ticky Donovan and a Netherlands team. The contest was refereed by JI board member Roy Fox.
